New David Bowie Video!!

Oh happy Tuesday!

A new David Bowie video staring the man himself AND Tilda Swinton equals all kinds of awesome. Bowie's first album in 10 years drops on March 12, and it can't come soon enough. Meanwhile, watch the master at work reminding us what an artistic genius looks like, as well as reminding us what a vital art form the music video can be, Bowie certainly should know since he pretty much defined the genre!

Song for a Sunday-Jim Croce: "I Got a Name"

One of my all time favorite songs by anyone.....and used SO brilliently in Quentin Tarantino's "Django Unchained"! This one takes me back to being in the back of my parents car as a kid with the radio on. It conjurors that feeling of pure innocence that is getting harder and harder to come by as I get older. Just as simple and beautiful as a song can get.....

Beck Does Bowie

What's this now? Beck covering Bowie with a truly bizarre and fantastic 10-minute version of "Sound and Vision" complete with a 160 piece orchestra for Lincoln cars?  I have no idea why this exists but I'll take it. Great stuff!!

Yo La Tengo Cover The Spinners and The Dead!

Celebrating the release of their fantastic new album "Fade", Yo La Tengo dropped by for a nice "Free at Noon" set for WXPN in Philidelphia. The highlight was this sweet take on The Spinners classic. Always one of my favorite songs now covered by one of my favorite bands. Bliss! As an added bonus, watch Yo La recently smash through The Grateful Dead's "Golden Road" into their own "Double Dare" during a short set at Amoeba Records in San Francisco.
